idk about the whole 'taste of blood' shit. one of my dogs, the american pitbull is 8 1/2 years old and goes hog/coon hunting every weekend, she eats her share of blood.. I've never had a problem with her..
bottom line is you should keep your dog away from kids that young(op's picture) even if its a little chiwuaua. anything can happen and a kid getting hurt is just to risky.. We have a muzzle for my dog cici, a muzzle that lets her still be comfortable, eat/drink/etc but doesnt let her open her mouth up to the point where she can inflict damage. ANYTIME there is a kid around we put it on her.

because it depends on what exactly happened.
if the child was smacking/pulling tail/something stupid, and provoked the dog to bite her, then i really wouldn't blame the dog. the parents should have not let that young of a kid around the dog to begin with. owners need to be responsible and use common sense and you would hear alot less stories about dogs biting children.
i never compared dogs to humans. but what i do know is my dogs are very important to me. important enough that i take precautions to make sure these types of things never happen.

The ones to blame are the adults who should have been watching the kid and the dog to make sure this shit doesn't happen. Kids sometimes provoke animals by pulling tails/ears, pinching them, hitting them etc. I don't expect a little girl to know better nor do I expect the dog to not react when it feels threatened. Kids will be kids and dogs will be dogs but where the fuck were the adults?
