i had my first class last night and i was worked like a dog, no shens, its the art thats extremely cardio focused...i was breathing for dear life, but i am going back for sure and going to work on kicking this classes ass

The #1 way to lose a gut or build abs is to do a lot of cardio

Running, outside
biking
Spin class

Then do heavy heavy heavy ab work.

100 situps a day

maybe more

do some sit ups at the gym holding a plate in your chest (with both hands) and use that to build a solid ab core. Also when doing situps be sure to tighten up (flex) your abs when you're doing it to promote the muscle growth

Diet also plays a huge part it's hard to lose a stomach when you eat a lot of fat and sugar and other stuff that store in your body longer then you want


hard regimen of cardio will eventually work

You gotta do all kinds of work outs. If you just do stomach work outs eventually your body will get used to that shit and then stop losing fat as much. So do all your other works outs too and eventually it'll go down.

just steaks, all kinds of meats, chicken, etc. seafood, and salads to a small extent

been losing so much weight the past 1.5 months

my BMI currently is near average weight, about 0.3 points over the 25 average. so i'm pretty thin. but gut = lol

if i'm in a lake, and i take a cup of water out of the lake, will that take it from that one part of the lake, or the ENTIRE lake? that is how losing fat works. also you need carbs man just keep it lower than 100g a day and youll be fine, do lots of cardio like running. also lift weights, shit is just as good as cardio. I squat 500 pounds three times a week and it keeps the fat off. also deadlifts, and bench presses.

my gut was the main reason I started lifting hardcore

honestly sitting on the computer all day is what caused it...eating bullshit, drinking too much beer and not compensating with any exercise = making a beer belly 101

if you could drastically change your diet to cut out soda/sugary stuff/fattening shit (yeah obviously everyone says this but seriously healthy diet in conjunction with some exercises does the trick). ingesting protein with your first meal of the day promotes calorie burn, it's a proven fact. try tossing like 100 grams of protein daily into your diet...if you're too lazy to find it within food, drink 2 RTD51's a day and you'll knock that right out. that shit will also curb your appetite so it'll help you eat less bullshit throughout the day. avoid carbs (bread, rice), I pretty much cut bread out of my diet entirely to achieve what I wanted. eat smaller portions, but eat a few times a day. they say eat 5-6 times a day, try to keep the portions small and yes it's fucking hard and it's gay. if you must drink beer, stop drinking light beer and assuming it's better. truth of the matter is, if you're drinking to get drunk like most of us, drink bud, not bud light. bud light has less alcohol and not entirely worth the "light" label if you ask me. but yeah obviously if you can cut down on beer you'll get where you want alot faster. my problem was I was smoking weed alot so I'd get hungry...and everyone knows the munchies aren't a healthy part of the day.

you might think those juices you drink are good for you and shit, but go look at the calories in a serving of orange juice/apple juice/grape juice/cranberry juice. peep all the sugar, try to cut that shit out and/or bring it down to a minimum. drink fucking water bro, drink so much water that you piss all day long. drink fucking a gallon of water every day.

on top of that, yes situps/crunches, running if you can...even jogging or walking will do just make sure it's a daily activity that you make part of your life. if you start to see improvement and you stop, you will get it right back. you need to be more active if you can, if you don't wanna run get a bike, go swimming, etc. whatever you choose, you need to do it every day to the point where it sucks to continue. "no pain, no gain" <- truest words ever spoken. when I go to the gym and shit, I work until I'm ready to barf, and only then will I accept the fact that I've done all I can do at this moment, and I go home and shoot heroin into my neck to feel better.

last but not least, illegal "supplements" are an option... in your case specifically, winstrol. winstrol isn't really a STEROID, it's a cutting agent. you can buy oral winstrol aka stanazolol online, and you take it for 6 weeks and it'll cut you up like a pizza pie. talk to me first though, some risks involved and precautions you wanna take with your lifestyle if you're gonna fuck with winny.

Does it matter if you have the AC on or off? Like would it benefit you better to leave it off b/c you sweat more? Or would it be as equivalent as having it ON the entire time?

I just copped a membership at a local baller ass gym (holla @ fingerprint entry) and im gonna start my routine on monday. got one of my homies that does personal training to help/throw me advice. ayo lets all get in mad shape before summer is over. also I will be heading to the beach towards the end of september for that end of summer throw down, I needs to lose this beer gut.

if there was a thread will someone bump it so we can start to post results? I dont think ive ever been this motivated

Belly/abdominal fat can be damn near impossible to lose due to various metabolic reasons. If you are low carbing it can even be some of the hormones in your food that are keeping you from losing that stuff.

according to my bmi i'm ~15lbs overweight

i just love beer

and i mean i stock my fridge with organic food and fuck with good carbs (wholewheat bread blah blah) drink mostly nothing but water (and light beer) and fuck w/ mustard rather than mayo on delicious sammiches but when i'm out and about and living my life i eat horrible shit like dunkin donuts bagels and other bullshit because it's just convenient

but at the same time i'm a short dude and i guess i'd rather be filled out than obese or skin and bones

but nore weight loss fundamentals are eating less calories than you burn and hollering at good fats like nuts/fish oil and beans/brown rice/wholewheat/fruits n veggies for good carbs and good protein like eggs milk etc

When I first started here at DG, i weighed 265. No matter my height, 265 is ridic (i'm 6'2").. [oh and I was also using Dbol at the time and stopped working out, thus my huge weight gain not in muscle]. Stopped the dbol and continued with winny (as koin stated) and I started portioning my food and eating better since Nov 2009. Since then.. I've lost >75lbs. I'm currently at 188lb which is still on the high-end of 'average' according to my BMI. But since I was so big, I do have the flab stomach still. Currently doing cardio and crunches and shit. Guess we'll see where that goes. holla

also, dont cheat on your diet. you're only cheating yourself out of your goal. Ive completely stopped drinking soda and eating fast food. Few months ago I had fast food and it made me sick.. ugh.

I have seen a few threads regarding weight loss, but never one huge thread that a lot of people participated in. I have never had an issue with weight loss, but because I am a football player, I work out 5 days a week. Working out is something that I enjoy, and I am sure you will too once you get started. The best part of working out is when you actually begin to see results, that will make you even more motivated to push yourself to get in the best shape possible. I definitely recommend joining http://forum.bodybuilding.com/ . A lot of people there can help you if you have any questions etc and they also have a lot of motivational threads that may help you out. I'm glad to see that you are ready to take action. Good luck.

Buttt its true that you cant pick where you loose fat like the lake comparison or the pool one i use.
Unfortunately I'm right there with you and trying to loose my stomach fat.
I know that diet is more important than working out for weight loss, but I do both. I would just say focus on cardio and core exercises so theres definition there when you actually loose the fat.

Diet diet diet. The first place you gain weight is the last place you lose it. If you do a ton of ab work it's only going to make your ab muscles bigger. This in turn will make your gut BIGGER because the muscles growing underneath will push the fat farther out. Cardio is helpful but you'd be better off doing full body work outs. More Muscle mass increases BMR. Eat properly drink water and everything will work out.

In fact if you diet and exercise properly you do not need to do ab exercises to have flat abs. If you want size and definition then please do crunches, sit ups etc. If you just want to lose your gut then eat right.
