two really interesting coincidences happened to me this weekend

the other night my buddy steve crashed at my crib because we had been out drinking and got really smashed.

he woke me up the next morning, but right before he yelled "YO KEV!" and woke me up, i heard a calm voice in my mind saying "ready? you ready?"

as if seconds before i was woken up a voice in my mind was pep-talking me into waking up

it was just plain weird

but last night, i woke up from some really vivid/odd dreams and sat on my couch for about a half hour. eventually i started to dose off and enter sleep paralysis. right as i was about to fall asleep i heard another voice say "listen. hey, listen!" and then immediately after an object fell in the other room and hit the floor with a thud. my heart nearly exploded out of my chest.

i don't believe in fairy tale hocus pocus so let's come up with some reasonable explanations for these two events itt

all i've come up with is maybe steve said 'ready? you ready? yo kev!' and i only heard 'yo kev!' when i was fully awake, and last night i could have just been in deep sleep paralysis and hearing shit in a half-dream state

but the weirdest part is that the 'voices' i heard were my own internal dialogue and intuition. the type we all have. idfk

When I was little my sister was sleeping on the couch, I closed the old school air vent thing that looked like this:

Which was loud as fuck, as soon as it shut it woke her up, she said her dream was they were looking at a car to buy, and they had the hood popped, as soon as they closed the hood in the dream, I shut the vent so it was like the hood closing.

Pretty sure your mind is very aware of your surroundings as you're sleeping..

For example, I just changed duty stations from Chicago, IL to Dahlgren, VA about a month ago. I have never been to Virginia, much less this middle of nowhere place called Dahlgren. I had a dream about 3 months ago that I was driving and the two people in the car with me were people that I had served with in Chicago, but I had no idea at the time they were both here in Dahlgren now. Low and behold, the other night, they were in the car with me and I realize I had dreamed the exact situation.
