...good package to run php and mysql on my local computer for script building. I tried phpTriad but it didn't work. I figure rather than wasting my time searching and trying them out I would just ask here....lol

I am running XPsP2 btw.

Thanks guys,
Bill

i have a BSD dev box that doubles as my router so i just bounce with that

you should be able to just install the win32 version of the two packages and localhost it all

Yeah, I am a little afraid of FreeBSD, no experience with it. I thought there may be more all-in-one installers out there. I don't have time to read up on fBsd, I have 3 sites to do this week....LOLOL

This is for the lappy, so I can go drink coffee at BE and get some stuff done without being connected. So like I can design (css and the layout all done w/php) and then come home and upload it later.

I run a local server because it's easier to test php on it. I use sokkit: http://www.sokkit.net/pragmacms

If you're a nub and don't want to get your box up and running, but still want to use the latest and greatest, get XAMPP.

http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

"The distribution for Windows 98, NT, 2000 and XP. This version contains: Apache, MySQL, PHP + PEAR, Perl, mod_php, mod_perl, mod_ssl, OpenSSL, phpMyAdmin, Webalizer, Mercury Mail Transport System for Win32 and NetWare Systems v3.32, JpGraph, FileZilla FTP Server, mcrypt, Turck MMCache, SQLite, and WEB-DAV + mod_auth_mysql."

Oh, and FreeBSD fucking owns your face.
