I don't buy HDDs in bigger sizes than 320GB. If one of my HDDs dies losing 320GB worth of data is bad enough.

lol yea because we all know if you got a good psu and active cooling it'll make your HDDs last to infinity(I do have a good psu and active cooling on my HDDs btw). HDD lifespans are erratic according to one study temps and usage don't even affect the lifespan, they just die erratically. here's the study http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070225-8917.html

You're living in la la land if you think there's anything you can do to make your HDD last forever. Check out that study I linked to.

I haven't had a HDD die on me btw. I'm just saying when one of my HDDs does die I wouldn't want to lose more than 320GB of data.

Their new drives are looking pretty cool too. I am 3 years behind technology though.

I have 5, most are over 2 years old. None have any problems. I have had a million maxtor drives die and 2 westerndigitals
