View Full Version : How much time do you put in?
You folks who are all hustling off of adsense/spammin/affiliates/pron (I know its a broad category) etc:
I'm just curious how much time you all put in to your projects to keep them earning at the level they are.
Would you be able to sit back and let them tick over on their own now or do they need constant input every day/week/month to keep them from getting stale?
Just askin cos I've never done any of it.
I work probably 75+ hours a week but it's more on new stuff than maintaining old stuff.

I work about 40 hours in my day job, and 40 hours in my trek to be free of it. It probably takes me a longer time then others because i don't really ask for much help or beg for things. I'm sure it will pay off better in the end.
I usually put in a minimum of 35hrs. per week..70% of the hustles I have runing can tick tock on their own, the others require a daily input of some sort, but I almost like those more cuz they are more interactive

i respect your hustle. many here have for sure been there. its fuckign hard coming home from a bs irl job and sit right back down and bust your ass testing shit that may or may not work day after day.
also, thats a BROAD question. when im busting my ass on a new project im excited about, man ill hop myself up on redbulls and work days on end with minimal sleep. other times when im just enjoying life, maybe few hrs a day tweaking with any ideas might pop in that moment.

I know man, thats the hardest part. Dumping work into things that may not work, and a majority of the time they don't work (big time de-motivator), but when you find those few things that start to generate some income, man what a great feeling.
ya man, 90% of things you try and think are the greatest things that are SURE to work will flop. very annoying and morale breaking. keep your chin up man, everything takes dedication.

Yeah I suppose I'm asking whether things will keep rolling without lots of continuous input at a certain point.
Thanks for the answers. You're all putting serious time in.

I'll be honest. During my 2 years at FSU, I spent maybe 5 minutes day managing my spammer, making a few grand a week. But there were always those once a month nights where aol changed it's filters, and me and my roommate would go out and buy a bunch of redbulls, and spend all night figuring them out, and then going to class in the morning. You do what you have to do to survive.

Naw.. 04-06. My only failure was managing all of that money responsibly but I think when you're making that much money while being young and disciplined, the best way to learn how to manage it is to lose most of it. Anyways, I also became complacent and knew I didn't want to be a spammer my entire life so I kind of stuck on that one method. I KNEW I would have to upgrade and I knew WHAT to upgrade but I didn't go through with it. Luckily I'm doing all of that now, right before law school..

it depends on how long u have been in the game. if you are new, you will need to put allot of hours.
I have been in a while, and not only that, i am good at code reuse making creating tools/applicaitons in hours rather then weeks

Haha I appreciate that but I meant to say "young and undisciplined" rather than disciplined. I think you guys understood what I was saying though.
