E-cig juice needs to be made out of vegetable glycerin (food grade) and a flavor. Or if you're using nicotine, then a base (Totally Wicked), vegetable glycerin, and flavor. If you do 2 parts base, and 1 part VG and flavor then you'll get some pretty opaque clouds.

I dunno about making your own carts, just filling them. That sucks that it has an auto-shutoff. I can think you can import ones that have that disabled. Also, might want to clean it. That might keep it from staying on after you take a drag. Get a shot glass > fill bottom with rubbing alcohol > dunk atomizer and the threaded end of the battery in there and let it sit for a little while > air dry > good to go.
