"the deck" - paid whywork for 0dx

back in the day, i did a subscription-based whywork clone and it didn't do incredibly hot but now the board is almost 5 years old and we have a lot more members to make it possible. in response to any potential manipulation of the rep system, etc., this is probably the most effective way to vet the potential whywork fraud as i phase that subforum out in favor of this system.

MBPs and old schoolers have a discounted join rate. the account features are pretty much the same as MBP except for a different green color, bigger avatar, and more science.

everyone pays, even if my own mother wanted to join - this is simply because i don't want to hear any bitching about favoritism. i'm going to build in some more ancillary perks to the program as it takes off to incentivize membership, but for now it merely serves as another cool club to be a part of.

it will not be as strictly moderated as whywork as i intend the pay-to-play nature of the community to do the moderation for me. it isn't completely foolproof, but it will force any potential scammers to go the extra mile. if someone does fuck around, i want the scarlet letter placed on someone after ejection from the subforum for scamming to be prominent.

in around a week, the invaluable contents of this forum will make the leap over to the deck to continue mission.

i think a lot of the opportunities found in whywork are becoming a rarity because of all of the newbness and immaturity

the deck is for serious grinders with serious goals

not to take anything away from whywork because it's the most a+ sub-forum on dg, but the deck is straight business so holler at it if you're about success

ultimately, whywork is going to be phased out in favor of this system, and google will not be indexing the threads, so people can be a little less discreet about their posts and sell services and what not that may have a negative connotation.

the forum's contents should have its privacy respected.

users will be still be able to capitalize on referrals and what not generated within the subforum, and good hustlers will be able to build a quick downline. it provides a structure that will (hopefully) generate people enough work to pay for the membership fee at the very least.

I just didn't like the openness of whywork for some of my questions/threads. Anyways it sounds good I'll probably try it out for a month and see how it goes. I've made a decent amount of money with help from this forum, time to give back.

I like the idea of the people in The Deck being (at least a little) serious about what they do. Although there won't be as many random people coming in and buying/selling services, you at least know that the people who are buying/selling in The Deck are probably reputable business people.

I think that the more private and serious nature of the deck will make for an environment that is very valuable for the polite and serious noob.

Just an idea here; maybe you could offer an "early adopters" bonus, like a special username color and/or title or something that's only available if you sign up before midnight tomorrow and you lose it if you let your subscription lapse.

what if you're new but still want to get into serious shit, dg is an amazing site and i first came to try and learn something, i see threads everynow and then that teach you a minimum about different topics, but most of the things are trolled. How do you get into the deck, is it invite only or do you have to be here for a certain time period?

The only barrier is capital.

I don't disagree with the deck, could be a really awesome subforum, but I do disagree with the deletion of whywork.

Maybe I'll end up joining the deck a little later, but I don't think it's worth it right now. Perhaps top contributors could have free entry or incentives to contributing.

i would be willing to discuss my ideas more openly on a forum that is not indexed by google. i think most people here (that obtain valuable knowledge) would feel similar, and in turn more would be offered inside of the deck.

all of the old AO knowledge and progs were free and we should keep it this way. sharing = caring. DG shouldnt be a source of revenue, it should be a src of free ranged and shared knowledge.

I think the real reason is simply to keep the 1-posters and trolls out, giving us dedicated DGs a safe place to "talk shop", without trolls or complete and total newburts wasting space and time. I mean, we obviously don't mind helping newbies out when they need it, it's the 0-day kids who have no desire to learn anything and who just want us to do everything for them that we don't want to have to deal with. By having to pay for the privilege of posting in a certain section of the forum, it does two main things; [1] Keeps the 1-posters, trolls and 0-day coders who just want everything done for them out, and; [2] Allows for, and maintains, a much higher standard of quality in that section of the forum...meaning more/better information, more/better/quicker help, more/better projects, more/higher/greater knowledge, and as previously stated, no having to deal with all the little punks, dicks, pricks, bitches, snitches and trolls that either leak/kill methods or get their pleasures by reporting and/or snitching on us real DGs.

I have already voiced my support of this endeavor; however, after reading nofx's post I have to admit I really respect his sentiment and opinion on the issue. I honestly am not that big of a contributer, nor do I have a wealth of information to share... so my opinion is some what moot. I just wanted to give props to nofx for his post... Definitely a very admirable opinion man.

I can understand a one-time payment to keep kiddies and drive-by scammers out, but is there really going to be a vibrant marketplace if the cost is ongoing?

I think whywork should stay open. That way people can still browse the threads that have been posted to get a general idea on how to make some money online. Kinda like a jumpstart thing. So when they have at least some money coming in, they can join "the deck" forum using the money they earned from the knowledge within whywork. They'll realize that they can actually do it and want to learn more and possibly start making more money. That's where this secret forum comes into play.

I honestly think this is a good idea. I have been lurking this site for years, LITERALLY. One of the main reasons I never post is A) I don't feel like being clowned for asking "dumb questions" B) I'm not on the front line with new ideas. By not asking questions and shaking hands, it makes it hard to be on the front line. (does the logic flow?)

The reason this is a good idea is I think people such as myself, will be able to post and ask questions without worrying about some asshat pulling the dumbass card. I don't wear my feelings on my sleeve but, shit, some of the off the wall comments and then having to sift through the scammers and other bullshit ... bla bla bla Take away all the crap .... and maybe I could help some n00bs eventually.

I feel indebted to DG because I have learned so much here. I can't put a monetary value on the education this community has given me. If I am able to contribute and get my doctorate @ the university of DG, I'm down. :P
