you failed pretty badly
I was stuck in the game for a long time not because i really enjoyed it, in fact a lot of the time i just wanted to log out because i found spamming the same button so monotonous. It was the people i considered friends in game.
These "friends" arent friends and dont think of them like that, ultimatly your just a class needed for them to get theyre gear or complete theyre raid. When i finally left i posted a letter on our guild forums explaining my reasons. I expected a goodbye at least and all i got was a ban from the forums. When i logged back on for the last time when my subscription ran out i found out the guild had me on ignore. Thats not friends, friends are the people who stood by me while i ignored them because i was spending time with my computer, friends dont judge you on the screw ups you make and they still give you another chance.
After two and a half years of neglect they still consider me a friend.
Consider who your real friends are and dont neglect the wrong ones. Because one day they just wont be there anymore.
PM me with forum questions or concerns and I will do my best to help

Hahaha that's funny. I don't ever get too friendly with people over the internets. I left squads(clans) in WW2 Online twice because they were too friendly. Every time I logged on they would all say hello and they'd always try to chat with me and stuff. I found it annoying actually... And also left a clan in WoW once for similar reasons but that clan was pretty lame to begin with they were called 'the x-men'.
