i'm filing for bankruptcy within the next 2 months so basically i have very little desire to work so all i do all day is spend money on things so my creditors cannot eventually get them and i think i'm going to boot up an emulator and get down on some ROMs

(these ROMs date none past the SNES so with that in consideration it's a shitload of games)

Yeah, there are plenty of plug-ins for emulators to fix up old games. Dolphin can even upscale Wii games.

In time. I still have a lot of things to work on as far as making it easily configurable for the end-user. I haven't been working on it at all, just playing with it (since it's now usable for me). Maybe in the coming months.

No, it's the emulator that's doing the "modding" of the game -- not the game that is modded. Even if it was the game itself (like a ROM hack), the actual Nintendo 64 hardware wouldn't have the horsepower to run it.

it's not even easy, single player gaming in 2010 is depressing enough for me and when you mix it with the NES/SNES and you get lonely nostalgic feelings of being a kid when you were satisfied with sitting in front of a tv alone all day it sort of kills the mood for me

i wish there was an active netplay community for ZSNES, so much could be done with that

Yeah, it makes all the world of a difference having your PC hooked up to a nice TV. I have a PlayStation 2 adapter that has 2 ports that plugs into USB, so I can use DualShock controllers.

EXACTLY what I've been saying forever man, I just cant fucking play any single player game at all. My buddy ooo's and aaaah's at the cutting edge new games and can finish em, i've never been able to.

maybe I need an audience constantly, but the only thing that's ever kept my attention gaming wise is Ultima Online years and years ago, I can never get immersed in anything that doesnt make $$$ anymore

I dunno, yes, with modern games it helps to have someone around. Left 4 Dead is barely fun with no one around. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on Sega Genesis? I don't need anyone around. I think it all comes down to your mood and the genre/platform.
