Whats so good about StarCraft?

I tried Starcraft I once I only played for a few minutes and I didn't really understand it. But everyone's is making a huge hype about StarCraft II and I'd like to know whats so good about these games and if I should try them again if I should in which order?

Starcraft I then Starcraft II or Starcraft II then Starcraft I?

Also will SC2 run on an Acer Extensa 5620 with upgraded ram?

Well what type of laptop should I buy that's under $800? (I already have a desktop that's built for gaming, I just prefer lying in bed with a laptop while I game/fap.)

then talk about how much you love starcraft to try to act like your gaming career and $800 laptop isn't just a fancy way to pay a monthly fee to flirt with trannies. i don't think you have to play it.

starcraft 2 requires no previous starcraft experience and it is pretty fucking awesome, it will run on most computers cus blizzard likes to make their games accessible to as large a market as possible but if you need concrete proof you can goto this website http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri and type in starcraft2 and it will tell you if you can run it or not. also there are numerous beginner guides to online play on the starcraft 2 community forums that will help you step your game up once you have a basic understanding of the races and tech tree.

If you played SC1 and "didnt get it" I would assume RTS style games are not for you.

Just ignore the hype and keep it moving. It's a great game but if you don't get RTS games you're not gonna like it.

I have a gaming laptop, an Alienware laptop. The top and the highest quality.

That machine can handle Starcraft2 at the maximum quality settings.

I disagree. I've never liked RTS (never really been good at them, can't wrap my brain around them) but SC2 I've put a ridiculous amount of hours in since beta. Give it a shot. I still haven't played the campaign because I'm not really into single player, but I hear the it's the best thing since sliced bread.

you have to be focused on the game at all times, desktop with mouse would be better for micro as well.

Also: I never played SC1, but I'm addicted to SC2. I would suggest playing the campaign at least until you understand basic game functions and units, otherwise you're going to get raped in multiplayer. Actually, you'll probably get raped in multiplayer for awhile until you gain experience. But whatever, I've never enjoyed rape so much.

I've never really been into RTS all that much even though I've played a lot of them (Warcraft 1-3, SC1, CC, AoE, etc). I'm a FPS player by heart.. but I can't get enough of SC2. I don't have a whole lot of time to play lately, so I'm not completely done with the Single Player Campaign. Im enjoying the story line and how they laid out the tutorials and the new strategy missions. Definitely helps with newbie players and it's challenging for veterans imo. All in all, it's a wonderful game and everyone should play it.
