Anyone read Stephen King's The Dark Tower books?

stephen kings red rose was a great book. horrible movie.

check out riftwar cycle by Raymond E. Feist, first book Magician (1982) 30 years and 27 books later, still an awesome series

i downloaded the current series the other day haven't gotten around to reading but my girl has and swears they are amazing.

will prolly end up seeing film before i read a chapter *sigh*

i've read them a couple of times, they rule. story of man chasing another and all th things that happen. best ending for a series, EVER

i too have friends that swear by this series but let me be the second or third to say (as a big fan and reader of most of his shtuff) waaaaaaaayyyy too much going on in this series plus King himself is a character = a big wtf

read them. a couple of them are superb (wizard and glass, the waste lands) some are so so (song of sussanah, wolves of the calla.) altogether though its a great story. its worth the read just for getting to wizard and glass. i would recommend. also for extra credit read 'the talisman'. its co-authored by king and peter straub. its where he first starts playing with the idea of the setting for the dark tower series.

idk, i keep hearing they are good. But read the first like 20 pages and fell asleep. It has good imagery and wording, but it's just way too fucking boring/confusing to me. It's sort of like reading the matrix * 5. Starts in the middle of no where, but I guess after you read it all, it makes sense.
