Default just an fyi (govt shit)

Was talking with someone about this, thought i'd share.

As most of yall know, USA is dominated by two parties, democrat and republic. Now, there are 3rd parties as well, which are not very known (green party, communist, etc..).

Now, you'd think that parties that have a lot of support behind them, like the green party for example, would show up on ballots of major elections, but the fact is they don't. Why not? well since democrat and republic don't like sharing powers, they come together to eliminate the other parties. They make up pretty much all of the congress and every other spot in the govt.

So what they did was they came together to create a set of laws to limit any third party from coming into their territory and winning any votes. They made it impossible for any third party to even be on the ballot because of the outrageous fees, as well as other things.

This is pretty much the same thing that was used when niggers became free. People started imposing poll tax and literacy tests to stop them from voting. The same tactic is used here as well.

just thought yall should know how fucked up this country is. They go after communism, and dictatorships, even though they are even more dirty and fucked up. Soviet union wouldn't pull this shit, at least they were up front about what they were doing and not hiding behind dirty tactics.

History shows us again and again .. That shit like this builds up to a certain point and then collapses on itself. It's just a matter of time before this country will have its reset button pushed in.

a multi-party system isn't a particularly effective method of running a country, though.

Variety is always good. Even if the other parties don't win, atleast they take a few seats in the congress in order to contribute the needs of their supporters instead of being completely silenced.

so you want the other parties to take a few seats just so they're there, but not enough of them to actually make any difference?

They will make a diff. Any seat in the house is used part of the contribution. And eventually after people see the corruption and shit that the two main parties do, they will switch to others.

i wouldn't count on that, we've had a multi-party system over here for ages and the two main parties still get most of the votes. the only exception was the last elections, and all that happened was the conversatives formed a coalition with the lib dems, and the lib dems basically have no say in it because the conversatives are the larger party.

i'm sure the system works differently there, but is it not based on majority voting? in which case, one or two seats (if they even gained that) wouldn't really count for much?

I won't even get into the errors about the Soviet Union not doing underhanded things to undermine Democratic nations as this isn't about that as much as it is American Political History.

Most 3rd parties here are just too extremist in their agendas to be taken seriously.

The Green Party (blegh) wants to eliminate industry and cars. Kill my way to work and my job? No thanks.

The Communist Party? Seriously? Do I need to point out flaws in that?

Socialist Party? Pretty much Democrats, so why not vote Democrat and relieve yourself of the guilt of being a Socialist?

Constitution Party? Jesus Zealots... I really don't need to say more.

Libertarian Party? (Note: I am a voting member in this party, so this will be biased.) Again, our agenda is too extreme for mainstream America. We want to fire the IRS, eliminate being forced to care for others (Social Security, Medicare, et al), and pretty much become military isolationists with free trade/travel borders. The only thing we agree with the Greens on is legalize drugs. Hell, this party can't even tell if it's pro-Life or pro-Abortion.

That being said, the 2 parties, even with ever-expanding hypocrisies, continue to be the only mainstream viable options.

Even though we have a two-party system the history in America shows that these parties can change. 200 years ago we had different parties, and who says we won't have new ones in another hundred?

I don't even think it's going to take that long. "Conservative" Democrats (like Lieberman) and "Liberal" Republicans (like Romney) will probably start voting in a Centrist base that will become a coalition that will become a party within our lifetime if things don't change.

The Republicans barely exist anymore thanks to the Tea Party hijacking so many seats. I can't take any Republican presidential hopeful at this moment seriously and I imagine this may cause a rift that will divide them into two parties (no likely, but possible).

We're at a historical and hysterical crossroads in Yankee realpolitik. The masses are just too ignorant to understand.
