Let's say I wanted to go about learning how to do mailing... (hypothetically speaking)
What would the steps be?

I just started creepin inboxs again, thankfully i had a friend with a good mailer tho, which probably saved me 500 bucks up front. but id say $1000 tops to get started... as long as your not a dumbass, you have some friends in low places and you are motivated. i got started for way less than that but im only doin 500k-2mil per day to keep off the radar. Plus using opt-in lists to keep it on the white hat side of things for now. I had 5 mil+ emails sitting around in .txt files, so i finally did somethin with them.

More like 20k power mta for example is $14k for a years license and that doesn't include monthly server cost or integration.

Mailing and INBOXING major isp is almost like rocket science and takes lots of time to warm up ips get whitelisted etc.

You'll need proxies, data, internal accounts (if you plan on using Mailerking) which is what i use, mostly everyone i know does 2-3k is a good start

There is no mostly wh. You would be doing greyhat at best with what you described. What are you mailing with? If you're using generated accounts or anything that's not legit SMTP delivery, then you're no where close to wh.

Scraping data violates CAN-Spam. The data is what makes white hat mailing so much more expensive than black hat. But hey, takes money to make money.

Problem is, you get termed before you get paid.

It's in most network's best interest... they get fully paid, and they look responsible.

If you're blatantly breaking the law, lawyers aren't much use other than negotiating settlements and lower sentences.

CAN-SPAM only applies to US businesses AFAIK. If you're running pharma stuff through Russia or the Netherlands.... I don't think AOL can sue you.

I'm not a lawyer.... and I'm certainly not familiar with mailing laws in foreign countries.

why not just head over to a highly visited public place in your area, setup a booth/stand, to promote a winning popular offer or item (be creative) or promote something small that people will give you their email/name. collect all of this info, head back home to your lab, and start mailing out your network offers (try to stay with that niche/offer to what you were promoting outside), for best results, mail out manually+proxies so that you make sure you hit inbox. <- important.

All this is totally free, no buying top notch mailers etc.. no host needed! even if you don't convert, best thing is you get fresh unique emails that you can sell, and still make $ regardless.

yes. because what you are doing isnt investing, it is throwing money in the trash. you need to read and learn. if you wanna spend money on something, spend it on learning shit, not desperately buying shit.
