My main site went from 6000 unique visitors a day to 400 a day OVER NIGHT. 3 year old domain, mostly original content.

Why would it? They said this was a major update, to give the newbs a free mind not to worry about SEO. They basically changed the game over night. Who the fuck knows what google looks at now since blank sites are showing up on major keywords.

lol i've been using that example all day long with people, but not cuz of the edus.

The .edu's are always in viagra serps because people hack the .edu for the link juice and drop the link to push them to the top. 1 day @ #1 for viagra = $xx,xxx. The edu's stay in the serps for a while before its corrected.

what I've been pointing out about how matt cunts sucks so much, is the number 1 result for viagra right now is fucking howstuffworks. the manufacturer meanwhile, is no where to be seen on page one.

so far this update has been an epic failure. I know people who, if the change stays, will lose major major amounts of money. One guy i know, one of his sites makes him near 6 figs a year and the site vanished over night.

i mean if ur site is fucked go for it but think about how many tens or hundreds of thousands of people are filling out that form right now. human wont see any of it most likely.

None of these updates have effected my sites or rankings... I assume if your site is affected by them then it obviously wasnt in a very strong position. All my #1, #2, and #3 spots are still good ;D

this really has nothing to do with knowledge of SEO.

Some keywords have just been more effect by the update than others. I had a few sites that were in the top 3 of the first page and now they are on the top 3 of the 2nd or 3rd page.

The problem is SEO for many people is an investment and gamble. They spend thousands on links and spamming software and then make little money. This is just about SEO in general, not this recent update. it's so saturated.

if you are doing it right you almost always spend $0 on links and the "spamming software," if going bh, is a one time investment (except servers obv) that pays for itself within a month. It can still be done without said software and without much cost at all.

My first money site cost a grand total of $110 to get to the point of $500+ /month. and that wasn't because i didnt have the money, its cuz i just didnt know what to spend it on at the time lol. Granted this was back before a bunch of updates went through but still. It's doable.

3rd - 600+
4th - 1300

I hope this continues. Funny thing is its bouncing back under totally different keywords. IDGAF as long as it's relevant traffic (which is still is)

a lot of big sites got hit, don't know why though, they are getting all the page views and are full of ad's. could be because they're so light of content pulling from a db. i think you should slowly feed your content over a network of blogs related to each other on different c-class ip's. and treat the linking offsite seo optimization building as an experiment, each blog using different types of campaigns.

I just got a new domain and was gonna get scrapebox, but anyone think I should reconsider because of the new google alg? Shitty free blogs are ranking and it seems not too much is known about it. Didn't wanna spend the money on scrapebox to end up blasting a bunch of links to my new site and end up having little to no SEO results. I looked at a couple sites that ranked for those keywords that were mentioned a few posts earlier and they were like some shitty free sites with a barley any backlinks. Any input as to whether i should hold off on scrapebox ? It seems that a lot of sites with tons of related backlinks, still dropped after the new alg?

Scrapebox is the shit, the only problem is people don't know how to properly use it. Scrapebox isn't for just blasting AA blogs. Its also great for finding high pr blogs to comment on. Use your imagination, with each update google has done the quality and relevance of backlinks is becoming more and more important. Save those low quality links for your third tier on your link wheels.
