You may not know because you weren't around for the 4 years before you joined, but there was a time before whywork where everything was posted in f=5. Just because this is f=5 does not mean that you should not be posting computer related topics here. f=5 circa 2007 was made up of 90% computer related threads.
inet money and programming belong in whywork, everything else goes here. problem is people took everything too literally and started using threads like a twitter feed or training grounds for shit trolls idk and now its just gone.

tried that...doesnt work. was never modded specifically to improve the place but i've done what i could. turnaround time on things that require me to message ytc havent been great, but i got sinz and yarp their accounts back and have tried to get more accounts back like phil (i havent forgot but i also havent been able to sit and talk to yt in a couple weeks now either)
I used to have the setting checked so i get emailed when i got a pm. While I was loading planes at ups I would also be modding threads on dg for people from my iphone. I've banned countless xrumers and have tried to do what I can about deleting content at all sorts of retarded hours. At the end of the day so many people put the responsibility of making this place better on me and koin and ytc. It starts within you. Juji and I have butt heads so many times but since he +repped me for this once, I guess its something we can both agree with
I am always open to hearing suggestions from people (and if they're willing to be open minded enough to hear me out as well thats even better). My pm box isn't full and my aim is there under my avatar for people to message me. I cannot singlehandedly make this place any better, but that doesnt mean im not willing to help anyone who wants to make this place better.

to be completely honest when the mods failed to do anything about dupes is when people got pissed off and left. when people are "trolling" under some dupe account it gets old real quick. once pewep started going unlimited full retard I think plenty of people were like "what am I doing with my life" and left this place for good. Red. Imagine this for a moment. You're a mod and you just banned pewep. He's making a new account instantly after you ban him. you ban his dupe after the first post (because you let it slip by because your also playign some video games with friends). Hes already making a new account. you ban the next dupe after you see it. your friends are over to drink beers but this nigger is already making a new account. If you dont sit there and ban his dupes as they're created, everyone on dg is going to hate you. If you sit on the computer the entire night banning this kids dupes, your irl friends are going to hate you. You can't even keep up. By the 4th dupe ban as your friends are walking in, its just hit you that the nigger has the create account form open in a different tab. Your friends want to have a couple beers and play pokemon with you. You can't exactly get up and walk away because the nigger is making more dupes, and if you dont ban them then everyone will attack you because its up to you to clean the place up. As a mod you have no way of banning an ip range or whatever was used to ban dennis. The nigger is also using proxies so your seeing these dupes from all over the place. You spend the next hour banning dupes while your friends are wondering why your being a bitch all about the internet instead of all about that sweet mario party 8 action. They get tired of your shenanigans and leave. You still have more banning to do. Dont stop now, you're making people on DG happy even though you're upset you didnt get to hang out with your friends and your friends are upset because an internet forum is more important to you than they are. By the way while your staring at the wall thinking about how you just let your friends down, the nigger made another dupe you better get back to that. Another 2 hours go by and your in stickam talking while in another tab your banning dupes. You're getting tired, but you know that when the nigger gets a dupe and your not around to ban it, he will run wild on dg and make 30 new meaningless threads. You can't sleep because your busy banning this kid. The next day your too tired to go to school or work. Either way you need to wake up to those 30 threads on the front page because you slept for 6 hours and the nigger only took a 2 hour nap before coming back and making a dupe. You stay home deleting dupes. You fail your classes and lose your jobs and your friends dont want to come hang out with you anymore because all you have done is sit around banning dupes because if you dont then everyone else on DG hates you.

but seriously a quick and easy solution in that situation was to close open registration, or have section that "unverified" member could have posted in until someone vouches for them. then every couple of days you approve new members or something.

I will, in my opinion, place the blame on ytc because it's his forum. if he isn't going to be here to know what's going down or dedicate any time to anything on DG then someone else should have been given admin access.
