Buy one of the $0.60 colored key covers that covers the thick part of the key. Go to a smaller bullshit key copy place, not home depot or something. Put key on keyfob. Walk up to him confidently and say hi can I get a copy of this please.
If he goes to pull the thing off and says no, try a diff place. Within 2-3 attempts someone will copy the key.

Ive had it happen before where its just me and the mexican dude, he goes to lift up the key cover and I just go "hey bro, I'm in a hurry heres $10 lets just get that shit done". Armed with the knowledge that he can now buy a 6er of Corona, he promply copied the keys

Assuming that OP is totally theoretical, you can duplicate keys with a 3D Printer.
You know they have little kiosks in the mall that copy keys for like $1 ... right?
many locksmiths refuse to do it because their rep is on the line so yeah just do a bullshit place like the mall or something stupid. An ace hardware would prolly do it too if there was a cover on there, depending on who is working.

haha it shouldn't be that difficult, just go to some hole in the wall hardware store and try to get it done, if they say something just tell em you're the owner of a cleaning business and you lost your original and it's the only one you have left and that you need copies made for your employees. but the idea about super gluing the rubber key cover on is good too lol

damn the places I've copied keys at will do it but charge a fee for duplicated key copy.
it's nothing but a lame deterrent, it's not illegal to copy those keys just because it's stamped on there - that's funny they upsell you like they're doing something differently
