Default How to get .edu email address?

I know this topic has been covered before but I tried searching and did not find the most recent thread on this topic that I remember. I did find one thread that mentioned mail.australia.edu/userhome/signup ; but as of now , they are no longer accepting new customers. Does anyone know where I can get a free .edu email address?

Take an online course at a local community or state college. You can just withdraw during the first two weeks and keep your money + get the email account.

I know about this method, as I have done this in the past, but it is a good method. But is there anything else I could use? I only need one email address, not a lot. PM me if you do not want to make public.

Well for now I want to be able to get a year free of Amazon Prime, since I no longer have my .edu email from college. But also need it for a few other things.

Sign up for Amazon Mom instead. It's not just for Moms, but any "caregiver". I said I cared for my cousin. Also, if you have multiple accounts and time it correctly, every eight months or so they give you a chance at another 1-3 months for free Prime. ShopRunner offers many similar promotions for free years as well.

prime will ask for a copy of your student ID if theres any discrepancies in your signup or if your shipping address doesnt match an address w the school.

even simpler method that saves you $: go to a college and get a library card. then ask them for an email so they can get in touch with you.

ex. you stroll into a college library-

"oh hi, i'd like to get a library card so i may sign out a book"

they give you a form to fill out. fill it out (don't fill in an email field if there is one)

use their db search to look up a book. find one that is signed OUT.

ask the librarian (or even better, a work-studies STUDENT) if you can get an email from them so they can notify you when the book becomes available.

in some cases (i have found this to be true in the SUNY system), the librarian themselves can create you the email account. otherwise they'll send you over to IT who will just do it to get you the hell away from them.

    enjoy yr .edu

Many colleges in my area aren't even doing lib cards anymore. :\

That is 100% false. I signed up for amazon prime with my home address and an itt-tech .edu email and have had no problems with it. I showed no proof of being in college other than registering with a valid .edu email address and have used prime ever since for free.

Amazon prime is the shit, well worth the money if you frequently order shit online. They are starting to do full-scale groceries too in most areas. I get my food, herb, and retail items delivered...convenience yolo! Anyone used Amazon to order food items?

in that case they are using a student/faculty/staff ID. those cards are multi-purpose ie. debit/door/lib card/ID/etc.

what you want to investigate are STATE colleges or COMMUNITY colleges, not private ones. as a non-student you would fall under a category such as "Community Borrower". you would likely be issued the same type of card (obviously w/o debit/door options programmed on the card). at most there would be a nominal fee (possibly a renewal fee), but likely it would be for free. you would need to present a valid ID to obtain it.

in the meantime, i'll see if i can obtain a .edu from a college near me using their alumni relations office. if it works i'll let you know
