college is about proving you can be educated
BA in Economics
www.muohio.edu
why is that?
that's not it at all. i'm confident i could go land a six figure "real job" on any given monday without a degree if i felt like bailing on the internets. i'm just highly interested in economics and think that some classroom learning will be fun.
I wish I was getting my assoc in economics instead of math :\.
why dont u get a financial related degree. business finance/accounting etc..
Its just a rate of change graph.

delta x, dx/dy, bell curve
how many college credits do you have? if you still feel that way after you've got two years of college under your belt (through your core reqs and into your major) then i may consider it a valid opinion, otherwise stfu
personally i think psych is a bullshit major but im in 3 years deep in lollege, ive taken psych classes, and i know many psych majors
I started College getting a visual comunication certificate..
what I learned tehre was that basically its all about cultivating hustle vs. graphical talent.. which I had plenty of. And so it was a waste of time in some lights, but a total eye-opener in others.. I then surfed classes looking for something to actually LEARN..
Then It was like "ok ill try music theory" - the fundamentals class own'd me the first round, even though i had been making "beats" and "Tracks" for a hot minute... I took it again and had a cute young female teacher which certainly helped, and I got an A!! hooray, so I kept going and im about to take my third semester of theory.
I then went to Borders and found some interesting music books, and to my surprise they basically covered everything I had just spent 2 semesters learning. This goes in hand with what many people tell me when I bring up my classes @ school. "Why don't you just teach yoruself that shit?"
And frankly, now that I know it - its all very available, as with all things, outside of a class.
You can go to a book store, for example, and get "The Compelte Idiot's Guide to Music Theory" - and it will totally equip you with the neccessary spells to defeat the level 20 music-demon on level 3, or whatever. Hopefully readers of this post know me well enough to understand my strange abstractions w/ language.
Continuing, though..
The main difference is being immersed with instructors and other students in classes and activies that sort of saturate the brain with this knowlege and knowhow and practical applications of it. Not only am I taking theory classes I'm also in the choir and taking keyboarding classes and might sign up for private voice lessons in the spring.... this sort of musical saturation has had the most profound effect , in contrast to just reading a few books, fucking around, and hoping I'm doing it correctly.
Have you heard my music lately? Its kind of crappy!
My earlier stuff is so much more raw and intuitive, kinetic. You don't hear the struggle of trying to write with the theory I'm learning, for example. It's quite the internal balancing act, lemme tell you.
Wtf why did I blog so much in this reply.
Compare these http://www.ytcracker.com/music/categ...%20Triumph.mp3
http://la.gg/v/sj-opacity.mp3
The first, Triumph, is all out modplug tracker hacker attack.. no musical know-how otehr than "yeah, that sounds right, and that - that doesn't"
Then came reason and theory and all that, and here is one of my newer works , "opacity" which i've got wayyy more understanding of whats going on.. but does it make much of a difference?
I don't even know wot.
