1st run-in with the law

i was doin about 40-50 down a road that the SP is 25, and it is impossible to do without holdin the brake
met a car, noticed it was an unmarked copper, looked in my rear view and he pulled in a driveway and turned around,so i slow down slowly to 25, her ran up on me and i knew this was it..after about 2 minutes of this i turned off on another 25 road and he followed me then hit the lights
pulled over in a ditch and heres how it went

cop-"looks like u can pull into this ditch alittle better than me"
me-"ehh, i was kinda worried about it"

me-yessir(give it 2 him)
cop-you know why i pulled u over dont u?
me-no sir
cop - 45 in a 25,i hate to give u a ticket, but there makin me write em, so, jus keep it under 15 over and youll be alright (hands me my crap)

i wasnt as nervous or shook up as i thought id be, but im glad i got out
now i gotta watch myself cause im on this road everyday goin 2 my house/school

honestly i dont think i got a ticket cause he cant throw the gun on me when hes passin me, it was a educated guess, and he knew he couldnt write it down if he didnt have it on the gun

hey shasta you know any sites that list what types of radar different pds and highway patrols are using?

my x50 lets me turn off X band all together (shits always going off) but before i do that i want to make sure its not going to fuck me

i have never ran into a cop that still uses X band, i think you will be safe by disabling it.. although i leave mine on for the hell of it. when you drive the same road every day you should know where it beeps and would be safe to disregard the beeps, unless it shows multiple bogeys in the area. i must agree i hate that X shit to but its good to keep the radarrr on lock.


doing some research on radarbusters I found this:
New Jersey has the sole remaining state contract for X band radar guns. However, there recently has been a shift in Ohio, with their State Police now purchasing light bar mounted X band radar guns. During a recent motorcycle trip to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, Radar Roy found that the United States Park Police were still using an antiquated X band radar gun. Unless you live in these areas, or are planning a trip there, you can feel comfortable disabling X band from your radar detector.

thanks for the info, the x band warnings have gotten pretty annoying. what about regular K band? it seems KA is all the police are using here. I occasionaly get K band warnings when there are no cops in sight.

pimp gauges. like 95% of the cops i run into use Ka, however, ive ran into some trooper going to indiana using K so i definetely wouldnt fuck with K. better to be safe than sorry

That's ignorant. He can just write that he visually observed your speed to be x. He doesn't have to have it on the gun, nor does he have to show you the gun, and he can check your speed while passing you.
He could have ticketed you if he felt like it.
