Three words for doctors visits that will get you drugs 98% of the time:

"My chest hurts"

Say that, see what they put you on, if you don't know what it is, ask them if it has a painkiller in it. If they say no, ask if you can get something for the chest pain you mentioned. If they put you on codeine, tell them Codeine makes you itch real bad.

Edit: Bill, I'd call back up to the doctors office and tell them the syrup really isn't helping that much, and that your chest is hurting bad when you cough.

Most Opiates do for a lot of people, but I've heard of a lot of people say they itch on Codeine but not Hydrocodone (when Hydro is much much stronger), so it's really a believeable excuse to the doctor, and gets you something 10x better.
