Default Do your shit right w/Bass *Video*

    (2) RE Audio 10" SX's in a 4th order bandpass ported through the rear deck of a Lexus GS300 with a 6" Aero Port powered by a Hifonic BXi-2010D on a Kinetik HC2400 in the rear and a red top Optima up front, 1/0 gauge Kicker power cable.

    1.6cuft for sealed section
    2.3cuft for ported section

Due to the nature of the 4th order design even with the tuning of the ported section being 45hz this setup hits the lows like crazy and peaks at 30hz.

The bass is super smooth and very very deep, it's the smoothest and best sounding bass I've heard!

No trunk rattle is awesome, 4th order's ported through the rear deck FTW!!!

I'll get some more vids up later, any requests...

Yo I use to have a Precision Power amp and Soundstream 10 inch subs. MB quart's up front with that Alpine face, backintheday. Optima deep cell 6 battery. Too much sound for a VW they weren't designed for the bumps.

Lot of bump for 10s. Also with all the effort of designing a bandpass box why not put some nice carpet on it? o.O

lol, it's just temp. the trunk is unfinished.... Haven't had time to make a flush cover for it yet. The cover will strech across the entire length of the box, it will hide the box and the gaps to the left and right of it. I also plan to make a false floor for the amp to flush mount it and flush the battery while I'm at it. That way I can throw the Lexus rug over it and you wouldn't see a system back there, it would just look like a smaller stock trunk.

I was gonna roll by this shop that has a Termlab mic to get it metered this weekend. Possibly in the 140's, it's tuned real low so it wont score that high on the meter. I was going for more of a cleaner low bass rather then the ear hurting 40-50hz higher frequency bass.

Ya I hear ya, these 10's can still cause some ear pain for a person that isn't used to a sql setup, but it doesn't hurt like my 18" Fi BTL SPL setup in the Blazer that peaks at 45hz, this thing creates zero gravity...

I just bought an 06 RE XXX 15" for the goat, powered by my old memphis ST-1000D, 1100w at 1ohm, not even close to RMS.
The gas tank of my car is in the trunk, so trunk space was an issue, and since theres a steel firewall separating it from the rest of the car its not as loud as it should be, but its still louder than just about everyone else I knows shit

Was the glass actually moving that slowly or was that just the vibration nearly matching the frame rate of the camera?

It was moving about twice as fast as what you were seeing. Check out how the visors are moving when it shows the inside view.

Comp VR 12's are pretty impressive in 5cuft tuned @ 34hz w/ 64sq.in. of port area.

Here's a 5cuft enclosure tuned @ 34hz w/ 64sq.in. of port area that I painted gloss black and wetsanded for a hella nice shine. it was for a couple of type R 12's which are similar in specs to the Comp VR 12's, I've heard the Comp VR's in this same box and was very impressed...

The box is key, but for many people they don't want to sacrifice trunk room so they go with a smaller sealed box that doesn't perform near as well. Most trunks have 32" of space between the fender wells. You could fit the above box if you have the room and it would make your Comp VR's sound like a pair of JL W7's... no joke.

I just made a vid of my subs. Pretty shitty, though, since only 2 Comp 12s in a sealed box. That and my whole car is made of steel so only the trunk lid vibrates. Looks really dramatic, though, when I put my camera on the trunk. And there's also a huge gap that lets all the compression out.

Freq that sounds like some hard hittin sealed 45-55hz frequency bass right there. With sealed it's harder to capture flex since the vibrations are much faster and there's less air movement, but I can tell it still gets loud 4 you. That's why this 4th order design I did is so sick because you get the best of both box types.... You get the SQ of sealed and the spl output of ported at the same time and the lows just sound crazy good and move hella air.
