My Legal Rights - A Few Questions

Long story short, I have 2 warrants for unpaid citations. I would like to just go pay the tickets but thats not an option, times are a bitch right now and all my money has gone to pay rent and other bills.

I got them on 8-15-08, yesterday on the 15th 2 cops show up at my house in the same car which is odd because almost all of the time i see cops they only ride one to a squad car, and ask someone else in the household if im home. He says im not, they just say they want to ask me some questions.

They didnt leave a card for me to call them back or anything.

Ive download movies and music on the regular for many years, never upload ect ect. So i assume if they were looking into something i may or may have not done on the internet that they would be wanting to question the persons name who is on the bill from my ISP which isnt me. (Yes i know i just admitted to doing something illegal on an open board, im not worried about it)

Thats IT as far as recent illegal shit goes while on the internet.

And if they wanted to question me about anything i may or may have not done on the internet if they had good enough cause they would have came with a warrant to take my shit.

I have thought deep as to what else i have done and cant come up with anything.

Im sure there obviously going to come back and ask for me again...

What rights do i have and what rights do the police have when i open up the door and they obviously know its me?

If in fact they do want to question me im not letting them in the house, i would step outside to do so.

What other scenarios could happen in this situation?

Any help on this subject would be great.

I was told this by my sister also, Now sure i can stand behind the front glass door and talk to them but their cops. They will probably try some shady shit about seeing something illegal in my empty as fuck living room in or some shit.

I have to wait until my other sisters "life partner" gets out of class for some advice, shes majoring in some type of law degree or some shit.

Im almost sure they were there for my warrants because they parked a house down and walked through the yard to get to my house...

Uh yes i know this, my cars registration isnt in my name (cheap insurance) and my plates expired on the 7th of this month. Even if i were to be driving i would get pulled over because of the plates.

The funny thing is that about a month ago i got stopped in a different city and i flat out told the dude i had warrants.

Got put in the back of the car, waited 15 mins and asked if i could have another ciggy while we waited to hear back from the issuing city. He told me to give it 5 minutes and at that 5 minute mark i was going to say "is it ok if i have another ciggy now since i wasnt put under arrest yet?"

But before that the issuing city came back and said their system was down and they couldn't verify and sign the bench warrants so he had to cut me loose.

I lol'ed and he did also, got out of the back, uncuffed, and on my way i went.

Most lucky night of my life.

I got the uniden trunktracker lll turned on full volume today just in case i hear my name or address over the radio.

Yeah i know lmao, needless to say i got home asap, parked it, got out and said SAFE!

AFAIK no late fees involved here, at least on normal ordnance violations tickets. My buddy got arrested for a unpaid ticket once, he gave me his wallet and i had to follow the cop to the jail and i only had to pay the amount that the ticket was for to get him out.

i got a $300 ticket for PAULA when i lived in iowa city

went right back into the bar after i got the ticket and ended up getting so shitfaced i eventually lit the ticket on fire @ some house party and completely eradicated it from my memory

cops came exactly one month later and arrested me at my mom's house

i stayed in jail for like 48 hours and ticket was only $80 after that
